My favorite beer of the box so far, as well as my only five-star rating. I wish more of the box leaned this way.
The pour is a reddish-brown body and almost no head. The flavors are complex and shifting. They include beef broth, fruitcake, raisins, light leafiness, a hint of cocoa, and the ghost of garam masala. (I snuck into The Wife's spice cabinet to check and see if the spice lurking in the background matched something and it did!) This doppelbock is most excellent!
