It appears that the gods of the secular version of Christmas have appeared even earlier this year than of those prior. The malls and stores are inundated with holiday merchandise. It makes me want to stay home more so than ever.

I've seen it too. Last week, I watched a man hauling a large trashcan around full of ornaments and wreaths. He was decorating University Village.
I thought, "Out of the trash and back into the trash," since that's where all that decor will go eventually, if not at the end of this season.
