on THE TAPHANDLE

Tooheys New, a Pale Lager by Tooheys

12 ounce bottle at Outback Steakhouse. I was trying to stay true to the "native" cuisine. Seeing that all of the Australian beers offered were lagers, as were most of the "domestics," I chose a lager even though that usually doesn't quite work out.

The pour was clear yellow with a thin white head that disappeared almost instantly. The nose was clean and of grains. The flavor was lightly nutty with a spicy "bite" at the very beginning. Nothing spectacular. I would pass next time it was offered.
