DX AVIAR

My fifth disc golf disc—an Innova DX Aviar putt & approach disc. Opaque red, 175 grams. Thank you to the wife for this one. It was a birthday gift.

---

Warm and sunny spring weather (70° F) brought out a ton of people to White River on Monday evening. That meant that the child and I bounced around on holes, skipping over those bogged down with large parties of eight or ten players and playing through a few smaller parties of two and three.

---

This Aviar putt & approach disc is slightly heavier than my other one, which did make a difference. It is amazing how much difference 9 grams actually made. The discs sit different in the hand. (They also grip slightly different due to their different plastic compositions—DX and Champion.)

It also allowed me better control than my Stingray on this close shot, allowing me to turn what probably would have been five throws into four and end up with a bogey.

The nice spring weather also activated my allergies, which kept me sick for a few days. I spent a considerable amount of time sleeping and reading over the weekend rather than enjoying the outdoors, writing, or blogging. So it was nice to get outside and enjoy some of the sun and warmth that has been sorely missing around western Washington for quite some time.
